Heineken History was an early study on putting all the history of Heineken in a sort of timeline that was much more intuitive and with a much more intelligent navigation capability then what was currently experienced online.

The result was a main navigational tool in great prominence where all the content would live. Each content item had relationships with lots of other items – and while the user was browsing and moving one of the handles to reveal content, the rest of the other content bars would move concurrently to realign and reveal the related content.

 

When an item was selected the navigation would retract to the top and give way to the content itself. There were other sections of the site that would also stay along the sides of the screen and could be folded out at any time.
