Our solution needed to embrace the 4 themes of this new sections, and introduce them linked with what Vaio represents. Since Sony is a brand that represents solidity, tradition, beautify, forward-thinking, etc - it wasn't so hard to connect those values with the city of Kyoto, which have a similar set of values in Japanese people's minds.
All our themes/animations were to flow very delicately, slowly, un-rushed, minimal, bringing forward the aesthetic sense and pace of the imperial city and connect them with the Vaio tradition.
You gotta love the Japanese!
